Andover club legend Lloyd Heggie has called time on his league career at the tender age of sixty two, after Andover thirds narrow defeat away to Basingstoke before Christmas.
Lloyd joined Andover whilst still in the army many moons ago and has enjoyed hundreds of games for the club at every level, he even had a run out in a first team friendly before this season.
Whilst presenting Lloyd with an honorary life membership for his services to the club on and off the pitch, Director of Rugby Andy Waite praised his old front row partner ‘ Many of us have been friends for decades, but we all marvel as to how our old mate Lloydy still carries on playing, its remarkable.’
Lloyd will still be making some appearances for Andover vets and will continue as first aid trainer, but as an amazing league career draws to a close, its a big thankyou from all at Andover RFC.
