Andover Rugby Club would thank Sarah Dunne, whose dedication to our youth academy rugby club as Academy Chair has been truly invaluable. Thank you very much for the last 3 years!

During Sarah’s tenure, the Academy has seen amazing success with a number of teams extending far into county competitions and performing well in both friendly fixtures and at Rugby festivals throughout Hampshire & further afield.

This success has led to a significant increase in the Academy size, in particular in the younger age groups, where numbers of new players continues to grow.

As a result of the success both on and off the pitch, the Executive Committee have reviewed both the Role of the Academy Chair, and the structure. This review concluded that, to capitalise and build on the success and size of the Academy in 2023, it would be necessary to reorganise to enable the right level of focus is given to the right areas. Therefore the Academy has been restructured and four new roles have been created.

Welcome aboard the new youth academy management team:

Head of Academy Rugby: Jamie Cockerell

Head of Mini Rugby U6-U9: Matt Moore

Head of Midi Rugby U10-U13: Shaun Mair

Head of Youth Rugby U14-U17/Colts: Stephen Murphy

This new structure will allow the new  Head of the Academy to focus on the continued growth and running of the Academy while the new Heads of each age group section can focus on player development & building on the successes we have enjoyed on the pitch.
